GALLERYSKE presents

Six Drops

By Sudarshan Shetty
Preview: 9th April 2009, 7:00 p.m.
On display from 10th April to 25th May 2009

With 'Six Drops’, Sudarshan Shetty moves into a new realm of exploration, conceiving a show that is virtual and animated rather than centered around objects - both large and small-scaled, static and moving.  Digital rather than analogue, the work focuses on virtual movement.  The artist's vital fluids drop onto the museum's floor, revitalizing the institution. Suggesting shedding and letting go, the work signifies what must be let go in order to build something.  Regenerating as forms of art, these six drops, represents the six mythic enemies within the self that revitalize both the artistic self and the institutional realm.  Yet this move is notional, removed from the real, physical sensations of pain and ecstasy that accompany the loss of self.  Six Drops mocks-up of the processes of showing, the idea of exhibiting, the transformation of the self and the vitality that goes into producing a public for art.

GALLERYSKE invites you to the opening of Six Drops on the 9th April at 7:00 p.m. Please visit our website www.galleryske.com to view the artist’s previous body of work. For queries or more details please email us at aarthi@galleryske.com or contact us at the following address or phone numbers
