AVINASH VEERARAGHAVANHomesick, 2006: Homesick by Avinash Veeraraghavan concerns itself with common and yet seemingly invisible mental states. Avinash's work is largely autobiographical in nature. In a time when the mind increasingly seeks gratification and demands almost relentless entertainment, AvinashÕs works seek to describe this state without condemnation while attempting to tackle the constant ‘noise’ of the mind. The show comprises pieces in video and digital photographs. Avinash Veeraraghavan is a visual artist presently living in Bangalore. He did his post-school program from the Centre For Learning under the guidance of Italian artist Andrea Anastasio. His first project was a graphic novel titled I Love My India — Stories for a City published in 2004 by Tara Publishing, Chennai and Dewi Lewis Publishing, London. He also has had two solo shows and several group shows to his credit. |
